Digital Music Jukebox

Project Overview

We partnered with a UK-based startup to develop Jukebox, an innovative mobile application that transforms the live music experience. Jukebox empowers users to conveniently pay for and request songs directly from their phones at live music events and venues, while simultaneously providing artists and venues with powerful tools for managing requests and tracking earnings in real-time.

Challenges & Constraints

• Traditional song request methods at live venues were often inefficient and lacked a direct payment mechanism.

• Artists and venues needed a more transparent and immediate way to manage incoming requests and monitor earnings during events.

• Integrating secure payment processing (like tipping for requests) within a seamless user experience presented a technical challenge.

• Accessing and searching vast music libraries in real-time from various streaming services required robust API integrations.

• Creating a solution that benefited both the end-user (patron) and the service provider (artist/venue) while maintaining simplicity was key.

• Secure In-App Payments & Tipping: Integrated secure payment functionalities, including tipping options for song requests, powered by Stripe's API.

• Real-time Music Library Search: Enabled instant music library searches within the app, leveraging APIs from Spotify and SoundCloud to provide a vast selection.

• Live Earnings Dashboard: Created a comprehensive overview for artists and venues, providing real-time tracking of earnings, transaction breakdowns, and valuable analytics.
